Go-Kart Race at Indy
Sep. 21 2000
GPL Guys get together for a afternoon of Go-Kart racing at Stefan Johanssons Karting Center.
We had the track 31/2 hours. We made up 9 team with 3 and 4 drivers and raced for 2 hours. Pit stops were made to change drivers when they were ready to come in. 1st place won with a 4 lap lead and Pat Dotson had the fastest lap of the day.

Podium Photo
2nd Place was: Randy Cassity, Alex Martini, Rob Rideout, 1st Place was: Mike (?), Rick Rideout, Nate Hine, Pat Dotson and the last four guys ( 3rd Place ) I meet and can't remember their names. :-(
Also at the race was Alison Hine, Dan Graulty, Joe Berkemeier, Bubba Jones, Mr. Balistic, Johnny Ackerman and I know others that I'm for getting about.
Alex Martini ( LX of VROC ) Randy Cassity ( Lead Engineer for GPL ) Rick Rideout ( Me also know as R. Rick on Pitboard )

Same group but now with Rob Rideout. ( Cuz )
Rick Rideout ( Team 1 ) making a pass on team 7. ( driver unknown )

Me again setting up for the big bend corner.

Rob Rideout ( Team 2 ) making it two wide with a team 4 driver.

Field would get bunched up from time to time making for some fun racing. If we would so much as touch another car we would get black flagged and have to go to the Sin Bin for a short speach about hitting other cars. LX was a regular in the Sin Bin. :-) ( just kidding, Most all of us went in at least once.)

Nate Hine ( team 1 ) and Alex Martini ( Team 2 ) had a good battle going one for several laps.

With two laps to go and 3rd place on the same lap and gaining on Team 2, Alex ( Team 2 ) spins. But the next car behind Alex also spins and blocks the track so that 3rd place can't get passed until Alex is on his way again. It was almost a classic LX loosing it on the last lap. Just like in GPL. ;-)
Randy Cassity ( Team 2 ) was one of the faster guys on the track. Here he gets on the inside of Team 8.

Nate Hine ( Team 1 ) carries the Checkerd Flag for Team 1.

This race was made possible by Lou Magyar, Who did all the work and put the whole thing together. Thank you Lou, it was a blast!
